The Arts of Tolland is located in the former Tolland Town Hall, a building that dates back to 1879. It served as the town's municipal center for over a century until 1985, after which Arts of Tolland undertook an extensive renovation from 1995 to 1997, funded through volunteer efforts and community fundraising.

The Arts of Tolland officially opened its doors in 1997, and the Jean Small Memorial Founders' Garden was added and completed in 2001.

A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Arts of Tolland welcomes all members to its Annual Meeting, held each year on the first Wednesday in June at 7:00 p.m. at the Arts Center.
